What cookies are, which ones this site uses, and how to switch them off — in plain English.

Cookies are small text files that a website, or a service that website uses, stores on your device. Similar technologies such as local storage and tracking pixels work the same way. This page explains which ones are involved when you visit mommycooking.org, and how you can switch them off.
MommyCooking.org has no accounts, no logins, no shopping cart and no member area, so we do not set any cookies of our own to identify you. Every cookie described below comes from a third-party service we use, not from us.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, which recipes people read and how they found us. It sets cookies that help it tell one visit apart from another. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we never sell this data. You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site by installing Google's browser opt-out add-on.
We are working towards showing ads on this site through Google AdSense. When ads are running, Google and its partners may set cookies to limit how often you see the same ad, to measure whether ads work, and in some cases to show ads based on your earlier visits to this and other sites. You can review or change your ad settings at any time in Google My Ad Center, and read more at how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Visitors from these regions are shown a consent message before any cookie that needs consent is used. It is provided through a consent management platform certified by Google, and it lets you agree, refuse, or manage each purpose separately. You can reopen it at any time from the link in that message to change your mind.
Every major browser lets you view the cookies stored on your device, delete them, block them for one site, or block them everywhere. Look for "Cookies", "Site data" or "Privacy" in your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not stop you reading any recipe here — nothing on this site is locked behind them.
If we add or remove a service that uses cookies, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top.
