Privacy Policy
We are a family recipe site, not a data company. Here is exactly what happens with your information — in plain English.
Effective date: July 8, 2026 · Applies to mommycooking.org
1. Who we are
MommyCooking.org ("we," "our," "us") is a family-run recipe website. You can reach us anytime at hello@mommycooking.org or through our contact page.
2. What we collect (very little)
- No accounts, no sign-ups. You can use every part of this site without creating an account or giving us your name.
- Saved recipes & ratings. When you tap the ♥ save button or rate a recipe, that choice is stored in your own browser (localStorage) on your own device. It never travels to our servers, and we cannot see it.
- Newsletter & contact form. If you email us or join the recipe list, we receive the email address you choose to share, and we use it only to reply or to send the newsletter you asked for. Unsubscribe anytime with one click or one email.
- Basic technical logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance. These are kept briefly and are not used to identify you.
3. Cookies and advertising
We use advertising to keep every recipe free. Specifically:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info/choices.
- For more on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
4. Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which recipes families love most (page views, general region, device type). This data is aggregated and never used to identify individual visitors.
5. Your rights and choices
- Clear your saved recipes and ratings: clear your browser's site data for mommycooking.org — everything stored locally disappears instantly.
- EU/UK visitors (GDPR): you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold (which, in most cases, is only an email address you sent us). Email us and we will handle it promptly.
- California visitors (CCPA): we do not sell your personal information. You may request details or deletion of anything we hold by emailing us.
- Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the recipes will keep working.
6. Children's privacy
Our recipes are family-friendly, but the site is intended for adults doing the cooking. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
7. Links to other sites
Recipe posts may link to other websites (ingredient guides, tools we love). Once you leave mommycooking.org, that site's privacy policy applies, not ours.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the effective date above. Big changes get a note on the homepage — no sneaky edits.
9. Contact us
Questions about privacy (or about pot roast — we answer both): hello@mommycooking.org
